Bon Scott is legend. Every jukebox and radio station in Australia (maybe the world) would or should have a copy of the song, “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N’ Roll).” To manage a bagpipe solo in one of the most popular rock ‘n’ roll songs in history is nothing to baulk at.
This was AC/DC’s second album and had a couple of singles from it, but more than that are memorable tracks.
For such an early album in a bands career it’s wonderfully diverse, especially when you hear other bands, especially nowadays, try to establish their musical formula and staple sounds..
Some songs are guitar driven with classic riffs, some are made by the beat, or even set the mood with the ominous intro of the bass. Then there’s the blatant blues influence, some of which can be easily overlooked [/ignored] but some are also unavoidable.
TNT was when Acca Dacca played music for the love of music.
Unfortunately this is the only AC/DC album I own, but others I intend to get are Who Made Who and Back In Black (both of which I have on vinyl).
Standout tracks are It’s A Long Way… , The Jack, Live Wire and TNT.
Overall if you love blues and/or rock ‘n’ roll and want to know the origins of AC/DC, this is a great place to start.
