Anthrax – Attack Of The Killer B’s

Attack Of The Killer B’s is a collection of B-sides and previously unreleased tracks from Anthrax. Anthrax actually describe it as an E.P. which essentially means it doesn’t tend to flow quite as well as an album.

Being mostly thrash/speed metal (I know proper metal fans will correct me, and please feel free to do so), there are also a few departures from their norm. The lyrics on a lot of the tracks just make me laugh.

The first track, MILK (Ode To Billy) is in yo’ face metal but singing about his dismay that there was no milk for his Cheerio’s. Bring The Noise is probably their most well known song, which is a collaboration with Public Enemy. Startin’ Up A Posse is a hillbilly ditty (with a metal chorus) about the hypocrisy of censorship. The last track, N.F.B. (Dallabnikufesin) is a complete piss-take of eberything about ballads that Anthrax despises.

If you’ve heard of Anthrax and enjoy metal, but weren’t sure where to start with them, start here. All up it’s a great album for many reasons. It’s not something I’d sit down & listen to though.

Standout tracks are MILK (Ode To Billy), Bring The Noise, Startin’ Up A posse and N.F.B. (Dallabnikufesin).

7.5/10
