Pat Benatar – Best Shots
1987

What can I say about this CD? I guess it feels weird holding the CD rather than the cassette or vinyl.

This is a greatest hits CD and it lives up to what a greatest hits compilation should be… umm… her greatest hits.

I have a theory about Pat. I think she had a love child with Meatloaf and called that baby Shania Twain.

Seriously though, considering how 80′s this CD is, Pat actually rocks quite hard. Good gruff vocals with ‘tude aplenty, a good solid rocking backing band and most of her most popular songs make this a decent investment. I’m not the biggest fan of Pat’s, but if you like some of her stuff then this is the album for you. The only song missing is All Fired Up (I can only guess that was released after this CD was made).

Naturally, being pop rock from the 80′s, there are songs I will skip, but none that will make me hate this CD.

The standout tracks are Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Love Is A Battlefield, We Belong and Invincible.

7/10
